From Side to Side

"We've got to live,
no matter how many skies have fallen."

D. H. Lawrence

When we watch a toddler master walking, he or she does not walk in a straight line.  Actually, the child wobbles from side to side as the momentum builds to propel the legs forward.  This little one frequently falls, gets up, and falls again.  Sometimes he or she will cry while at other times bubbles of laughter roll out of the mouth.

Life is this way for us as well.  We wobble from side to side in decision making, sometimes fall on our face, or success may surprise us with squeals of triumph.  As we complete an intention, our thoughts may already be drifting towards the next.  If we have mastered something important, we may be ready to take on something in an entirely different direction.  If we are unsatisfied with our results, we just might regroup and try again.  When a project crashes down around our heads, sometimes we are relieved to have it ended.

The point is we really never stop.  We may pause, regroup, or research, but we will find ourselves beginning all over again.  Our focus needs to remain positive and retain what we have learned from mistakes.  We can channel our energies into creative approaches rather than wasting it by negative reactions.  When we follow these guidelines, we will continuously discover new beginnings.
