Surrender as a Gateway

"Surrender should be seen as a great strength and comes
when we let go of trying to attain the impossible."
Daily Om

The act of surrender would feel differently, if we viewed it as a a non-judgmental closure. Rather than feeling a heaviness of defeat, we shift our attention to what may come next. Instead of using our energy to maintain what no longer works, it is used to explore a new situation leading to peaceful living.

It takes courage to make a new choice. Often, we are longing for the change, but resist based on the anticipated backlash from work, friends or family. Admittedly, surrender requires strength and bravery, but we have those qualities.  Remaining where there is no longer hope for appropriate restoration creates pain for everyone involved.

As we let go, we make room for new possibilities. Our attention shifts and the Universe begins to shine light in areas we had not been seeing. In choosing a new direction, setting realistic goals, our life moves forward lifting our hopes and speculations. Cease to think of surrender as a bad thing. View it as catalyst for new beginnings.
