Facing Fire

"If you try to get rid of fear and anger without knowing
their meaning, they will grow stronger and return."
Deepak Chopra

We fool our lovely selves when we try to be 'above' our anger. We try to take the 'higher ground' and set a positive example. Basically, this is true if we deal with our internal feelings, first. They need to be recognized, and released. If we falsely pretend that irritations do not matter, the red hot coals of anger fester.

We may try to convince ourselves that the situation didn't matter, but it needs to be addressed no matter the relevance. Of course, one doesn't want to dwell on mishaps, but the tiniest error will be magnified when repressed. Trying to show a happy face without gentle recognition of pain is an insult to our inner spirit.

Avoiding conflict and honoring the self without discussion,  one can say out loud, "You hurt me." Even if there is no response, the energy is released. The same can be accomplished by using a picture or more personally, gazing into a mirror. Accountability must to be placed where it needs to be. Put out the fire by addressing the issue and then moving on.
