"Our greatest glory is not in never falling,
but in rising every time we fall."
Oliver Goldsmith
The bud was closed tightly as it waited for a signal from the sun. It reached down to its roots, and wondered when the rain would next come. The petals were waiting for the kiss of the butterfly, but none were yet in sight. The bud wondered how bright its colors would be while anticipating the joy of opening this spring.
Inner emotions can be clenched tightly while facing a new season in life. We wait for confirmation as to when it is best to move forward. We gather courage accumulated from over the years as we speculate as to what shall come. We ponder if our skills need honing and if our working knowledge requires an upgrade.
The bud has faith and trust in what is yet to unfold, and we must do the same. Like the flower, we go through numerous stages of beginning and ending. Cycles allow us opportunities to try again, believing that we can thrive and contribute. Face the winds and embrace the sun, knowing all things are possible come spring.
