And Then There Was October ...

'I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."
L. M. Montgomery

October arrives with visions of apples, pumpkins and various festivals! New routines present and a sense of general happiness fills the air. Whether it is hay rack rides or wandering through labyrinths, the outdoors calls us to come out and play. We grab our sweatshirt and we're on our way!

Rather than hiding inside from the blistering heat, we are outward bound feeling better connected to the world surrounding us. We tend to do more, but at a slower pace. We notice farmers in the field, scarecrows and pumpkins in the neighbor's yard, and develop a strong desire to make hot apple cider in the crock pot!

It is easy to fall in love with the fall season. Vibrant colors of all shades whether personally adorned or splashed across leaves tend to glisten and glow! We open our windows and doors allowing us to hear the beauty of the outside world. What is not to like ... caramel apples, pumpkin bread, and marshmallows roasted in the open fire!
