There was such symbolism in the setting sun. The darkness of that which lingered beneath the glowing ball of fire was from the unsettled day. The sun was gracefully lowering itself as though it were going to nestle itself far beyond any darkness. The heaviness of the dark sky was encroaching upon the beautiful descent, but still the sun lowered at its own pace.

As the sun slowly sinks with the evening darkness expanding, one can appreciate the contrast of moving from one space to one other.  To focus on the beauty and grace of the seemingly falling sun, one can feel hope and encouragement entering our hearts. The key perhaps is noticing the lack of pressure or urgency.

As we observe the sun sinking into a horizon, we experience a confidence that it will return tomorrow, ready to shine on yet one more day. It will transform our darkness into light if we simply take time to notice what is being portrayed. Let us imitate such style and grace bringing light to ourselves and others between layers of darkness.
