"Yours is the light by which my spirit's born; you are my sun,
my moon, and all my stars."
E.E. Cummings
Harvest has cleared the fields, and October's full moon provides light for hunters, thus, the Hunter's Moon. The Native American name, Falling Leaves Moon suits me just fine. Images of colorful leaves gracefully twirling, showing off an array of colors brings closure to the end of another moon cycle.
Fall brought us a shift in routine and additional time to be spent outdoors. Hopefully this cycle offered us a greater sense of peace. Perhaps there was an acknowledgment that yes, winter is coming, but the presence of pumpkins and scarecrows can stimulate a playful nature. The light of the full moon touches us all.
With open doors and windows in our spaces, we become more aware of the sounds of nature. Joining others around campfires present opportunities for our thoughts to get lost in the flames while recalling past memories. What's not to like about hot apple cider, roasted marshmallows and Halloween fun for all!
