"The wound is the place where the light can enter."
Rumi
We have experienced situations that are wounding, and we may feel like there is an open hole of darkness within us. Internal suffering alters our perceptions and decisions. It is however, through struggle and defeat that we learn to increase our strengths and gain new understanding. With a willingness to change, segments of ourselves begin to generate light.
In time, we learn that light leads us out of darkness. The drawback is when we hold tightly to a certain outcome that was never intended to materialize. Traveling slowly, we begin to notice small sparks of enlightenment that allow us to see with new eyes. Moving beyond our pain, out of woundedness, a new path of life unfolds.
When we can see our challenges as lessons, we can welcome light in all forms to help us learn, knowing we are being led to new means of support. With open minds and hearts, our persona changes into a willingness to trust in the greater good. Rather than locked into a frantic panic, we are free to take flight with a new sense of self.
