"Come little leaves," said the wind one day, "Come to the meadows with me
and play. Put on your dresses of red and gold; For summer is past, and the days grow cold."
George Cooper
As the leaves change colors, there is a shift inside of us. There is a feeling of trust watching the leaves let go. So gracefully, the wind escorts them to the ground where children can laugh and play with the scent of fall wafting in the air. There is comfort that these beautiful trees will return the leaves again next year.
Perhaps the message is to appreciate all things unfolding in a season, remembering that nature tends to be repetitive. As the leaves rustle with the soft breeze, we can experience our connectiveness with the passing of time. Just like the leaves, we must remember to not cling but gracefully release letting go.
Observing the beauty in nature, remembering its resilience, we are encouraged to move forward in our lives in spite of change. A season may end but it is followed by one other. Appreciate what is in front of us and as it ends, remember that transformation is an opportunity where our creative existence expands.
