“And yet you may feel, as so many of us do, the ache of a life orphaned from belonging.”
Toko-pa Turner
We spend years defining ourselves and yet there are days, perhaps even weeks, feeling hollow inside, not really knowing who we are. There are numerous faces we wear, some more comfortable than others, and yet not one of them reflects our truest nature. Those around us only know the parts of our inner self that we choose to reveal.
In solitude we identify parts of our selves that no longer feel aligned with our nature. We follow up with this discovery, by removing our presence or commitment. This of course makes room for new growth, but research must be explored to find what is worthy of our time. What action will connect us with the needed sense of belonging?
Take time to understand this feeling of disconnect. If we become careless in how we choose our friends, spend our time, and invest in the self, we will be overwhelmed by a sense of loneliness. When we know ourselves first, then create what and who feeds our soul, authentic existence prevails. Seek thy self first, and the rest will follow.
