"Rise and enter this day
as if it is your first and your last."
Mark Nepo
It was noticed, time and time again, that a friend was depressed. Plans were made to meet for lunch and offer an arena for the one women to explore what was missing in her life. The friend asked, "What did you used to do with your time?" A broad smile swiftly swept across the sad woman's face and words of delight followed.
A very long list of activities was given: ceramics, yoga, bird watching, and dance. As a loyal wife, she explained, since her husband retired, she one by one gave up her favorite things, as he was not interested. He liked to watch television, especially sports.
Where is our backbone? What happens to our voice? How have we reduced our power? Why do we become subjective? Women have the tendency to give up their power. If we push every person back and create a list of things we have relinquished or things we have yet to try, we can begin to breathe life back into our existence. Life is not over, begin once again.
