"There is a sacred realm of privacy for every man and woman
where he makes his choices and decisions ... a realm of his own
essential rights and liberties."
Geoffrey Fisher
A sacred realm of privacy can be physical, mental or spiritual with the importance being on how much we use it. There is comfort in sharing with friends and enormous relief confiding with a professional, but truth is often revealed best in our own safe space. The honest conversation here is not geared towards pleasing others.
Spending time in our sacred realm, raw emotion can be spewed without harming anyone. Anger can be allowed as it strikes no one. Stating the need for departure can be stated without fearing retaliation. Much of what is acknowledged in our safe space, needs not to be acted upon.
Ridding ourselves of personal pain in privacy allows forward movement or not. There may be healing just in the act of private disclosure. or acknowledgement that no longer is there a certainty to life. Create a sacred realm where we can just 'be' without masks, expectations, or commitment. Privacy in a safe space reawakens authenticity.
