Eruption as a Segment

"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."
Henry David Thoreau

Misery leads to suffering, but we have the ability to choose between a moment of reflection or an overwhelming status of pain. When we realize the presence of hurt, an expansive inventory can rebalance the emotions and define intended resolution.

There is danger in allowing a small disruption to flow into all aspects of life limiting our thoughts of containment. This eruption is a segment of life, not the total essence of our life. Capsulize the situation, using the remainder of our energy to seek a path of removal or healing.

Narrow focus extends our sense of victimhood. Feeling less empowered, we are trapped. When we broaden our view, new possibilities become apparent. Yes, a situation maybe horrible, but it is not meant to limit the human experience. Step beyond the immediate emotion using new eyes.
