"When a poet digs himself into a hole, he doesn't climb out.
He digs deeper, enjoys the scenery, and comes out
the other side enlightened."
Criss Jami
With current restrictions on social gatherings, we can easily find our lovely selves feeling stuck in our routine. Limitations tend to increase our desire for more and yet, we become stagnant. As boundaries hold us in place, we can choose to use the time to go within.
An archeologist is a great example of digging beyond even though discouraged. He or she remains dedicated to a vision of discovery no matter how long the expedition. Rarely do we tap the adventures waiting within us to prompt new thoughts of creative living. Its time, perhaps, to update our schedules with colorful variations to break routine.
If we settle into complacency, we fail to attract needed energy to generate positive thinking. Whether we pick up the poet's pen or the explorer's shovel, let us continue forward to discover the gifts of being alive. Imagine unique ways of extending kindness to our selves as well as towards others and we will once again thrive.
