Holding Up A Ship

"I want to be like water.
I want to slip through fingers,
but hold up a ship."
Michelle Williams

Water has been the most prevalent element in my life.  For as long as I can remember, water in any form called to me and consistently provided comfort.  As a sensitive and emotional being, water offers forms that I can identify with personally.

The delicacy of water slipping through my fingers heightens sensitivity.  A simple raindrop generating movement in a puddle reminds me of the impact we have on each other.  The tug of an undercurrent refreshes my sense of resistance; whereas a rushing powerful wave can knock me to the shore.  My favorite, though, is to be a trickling stream running through the purity of nature capturing the presence of spirit.

This identity with water portrays my need to be in the flow and not held back by any structure.  It generates a sense of cleanliness which I want to portray in my life.  I yearn to be a gentle person floating through scenarios and yet be a force, if needed, to hold up a ship!
