"Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise."
Victor Hugo
For some of us, we have always been in the dark and not always by personal choice. We may have had options, but nothing effective enough to allow the light to come in. If life is truly hard, sometimes it seems as though remaining in the dark where we know the pitfalls are more appealing than learning and embracing bright lights.
The first time we slide down the chute into darkness, one isn't aware if we'll ever get out. With repetition, we can be aware there is an exit but become paralyzed in fear. There can be a moment when we glance upwards and catch a glimpse of a light that seems to resonate within us. Hope is kindled and we begin to navigate towards the light above.
Often times, the people who have lingered alone in the darkness can become the brightest shining light. Having experienced extreme blackness, they are drawn towards the uplifting resonance of illumination. One quick glimpse of radiance is enough to lure the dark soul out of the shadows. All the more reason to keep out light shining.
