"We become the stories we tell ourselves."
Michael Cunningham
Females have had to push through layers of oppression, suffocation, and male dominance in order to experience growth. Males have had to find ways to openly experience emotion and release the need to be dominant. Both genders continue to learn new patterns that may cause alarm or duress to others.
There are courageous women who by telling their stories, advanced others. Women were encouraged to step out of rigid family patterns, restricted occupations, and create personal independence. Men discovered the benefits of opening doors, shifting positions, and discovering who they truly were inside.
With false egos set aside and flexibility of definitions, women and men have formed healthy alliances for the betterment of communities, individual states, and our country. Growth is established when it is not about winning or being over others. It is about sharing dreams, blending intelligence, and respecting diversity.
