We establish a belief system which allows us to be comfortable in our own skin. The security of perimeters protects us and we heighten protection when we feel threatened. Contrasting views are either readily dismissed or else we feel challenged by conflicting ideas.
Changing our belief system feels very uncomfortable in our body, mind, and spirit. We are frightened to give up long held dogma in exchange for a broader sense of perception. Distorted illusions of being 'wrong' or 'punished' for embracing new concepts might draw us back into our prison of comfortable ideas.
As we learn to change with imagination and curiosity, our life takes on a greater sense of freedom. We experience a broader connection with people, places and things. By nurturing our deepest wonders, we expand our sense of self being governed by wisdom rather than fear.
