"Moon Child be free.
Free from the tides of being boxed.
Free from the norms of those who status quo.
Find your path and follow it to the moon."
Malebo Sephodi
According to astrology charts, I am a Moon Child which is something I did not learn until I was an adult. As a young child, however, my free time was always given to the moon and the stars. They seemed to provide stability for me and their absence taught me to trust in their return.
As an adult, I would sit on my front porch swing and watch the moon appear on my left and for hours, patiently watch it move across the sky to the right. Without interruption, the moon and the stars were my focus and somehow this silent interaction encouraged me to be still and believe more strongly in the unknown.
The moon and the stars provided a level of love and acceptance that allowed me to be more of a solitary figure to this place named earth. My allegiance leaned towards trees that stood as strong examples of what it means to be present and an obsession of being lulled by waves in the water. Knowing this kind of freedom perhaps hampered my adjustment to a world of chaos and pain or convinced me there was something better.
