Escorted into Spring

"...winter will be forced to relent, once again,
to the new beginnings of soft greens,
longer light, and the sweet air of spring."
Madeleine M. Kunin

Winter is the sound of crackling logs in the fireplace; the physical comfort of a favorite chair and warm blanket; both a book and a journal; accompanied by a cup of  hot beverage.  As the cold winter winds blow through the trees, the warmth of our heart is contained in reverie.

Winter is an isolating time whether physically or just mentally.  We tend to limit our social engagements and increase time spent in memory.  It is a time to carry our light into the darkness, accepting what we cannot change and preparing to create whatever we can.

Light increases with the forthcoming of spring.  As buds form on branches and sprouts push up from the earth, a sense of new beginnings create the stirring of unidentified hope.  Anticipation gently spreads through our thoughts and we feel new energy escort us into spring.
