Profound Collaboration

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees
on a summer's day, listening to murmur of the water, or watching
the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."
John Lubbock

It is not unusual to walk barefooted through the grass, at least for me. There is some form of pleasure, a tickling of sorts. Even if I stand perfectly still, some motion of cleansing transpires between my toes.

So when time is made to lie down in the grass, I am easily transported out of my worry and fear. My fingers find joy stroking each tender blade of grass. The firm support felt beneath my body, relaxes muscles and firms my soul.

It is profound to experience the collaboration between the earth, body and sky. The eyes wander through individual tree branches, while the ears devoutly listen to the sweet sounds floating in the wind. The silent messages seemingly arrive from nowhere.

Art Colors Life

"Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest
elements in human happiness. It trains the mind
through the eye and eye through the mind."
John Lubbock

There are endless ways to express art. It is a natural ability residing in each of us. Some have the ability to use musical instruments while others have a melodious voice. There are those who express themselves through pottery, landscaping, or architectural design.

For those of us lacking actual talent, we still have the need for artistic expression. We may find it in arranging a bouquet of flowers, setting a colorful table or preparing a complicated culinary dish.

It is not so much what we do or how we do it, but rather the happiness that unfolds. As we create on any level, we feel a reviving of our energy.  Artistic expression heightens our sense of connection and adds a dash of color to the soul.

Seeing Beyond the Surface

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass
under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur
of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time."
John Lubbock

By nature, writing is an important piece of my life and it is greatly stimulated by being an observer under a great tree watching clouds in the sky or before an ocean noticing the distinction between the personalities of waves.  Gentle breezes tend to sedate me which allows me to see beyond the surface of what greets the eye.

Soothed by the sounds of water, I am lulled into a vulnerable state where Spirit fills my soul. When I become entirely lulled I can hear whispers of love rippling from the other side. As my physical definition slides away, my senses intensify and my energy stretches to a very fine line.

These moments with the Divine enable me to release words produced through the experience of being perfectly still and vulnerable.  To be in nature triggers my mind to paint with words, to sing  with my heart and to share from the depths of my soul.

The Ebb and Flow of Kindness, Compassion and Love

"What we do see depends mainly on what we look for ... "
John Lubbock

It is not that I am rewriting reality, nor am I ignoring the elephant in the room.  I have just decided to adjust my vision to see through current events and beyond all thoughts of fear.  I am going to allow my mind to wander in the realms where all things are beautiful and free.

As we are like crystals, multi-sided, I am going to imaginatively turn fellow men and women counter clock wise until I find his or her personal gift.  The gift might be in a discovery of what shakes loose in the rotation or remain hidden as the person walks away.   Outcomes accepted and respected.

I have always said that we aught not be a noun ... christian, spiritualist, atheist ... but a verb traveling in life so the Divine can best use us actively.  I want to be action not be steadfast and permanent.  I desire to be the ebb and flow of kindness, compassion and love.  Attempting to be a positive movement, not heavy concrete waiting to be destroyed.
