Tempted to Hide

"Vulnerability is about showing up and being seen."
Brene Brown

There are numerous reasons for not wanting to be seen. It can stem from random misfortune that we have no control over or from circumstances we have set into motion. We do not want to experience disdain displayed in the faces of others or tolerate an opinion that is not based in fact. So, it is tempting to hide.

Choosing to remain private is our prerogative, but to hide in shame is more damaging than we deserve. As we listen to our inner critic, false accusations need to be discarded. As we face the truth of any situation, treating ourselves with loving kindness is respectful and healing.

We have the inner strength and positive mindset to re-enter life. True friends will listen and support us. Look forward, determining changes that can alter the pressure and stress at hand. Movement will escort us out of darkness and back into the light.  All of the decisions being made today will advance us to a thriving tomorrow.

This or Something Better

"We all have the choice in life whether to put
our true selves out there or hide behind our fears."
Brene Brown

There is a progression to discovery ...  we first discover our gifts ... talk ourselves into believing in our strengths ... design a way to present our value out into the world ... and then follow through.  In the midst of all stages we will find ourselves doubting and questioning our sanity.  We may become discouraged, but it is vital for us to push through.

When we are at wits end, it is difficult to find the strength to push through.  If we can visualize what we are wanting to bring into the world;  if we can let creativity have free flow;  and try yet again in a different way, the outcome may change.

The most vital step is engaging the Divine with our plans.  There are times God's intuitions for us are bigger than ours and we need to open our options to allow intervention.  We may be thinking too small or in the wrong vein.   'Please great Spirit, this or something better bring into my life.'

Courage to Be

"Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to
love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others."  Brene Brown

To thrive in a healthy way, individuals need touch and recognition, just as nature requires water and sunshine.   Both humans and nature need to be tended to, nurtured, and encouraged.  Without these elements, negative behavior accelerates and delicate petals become overgrown by weeds.

We want to please the caregivers in our life.  We want to thank them for supporting us and enhancing us in various ways.  This does not mean, however, we make allowances for anyone to  ignore our boundaries or resist our best calculated decisions.

The act of kindness towards others is ideal, but not at the cost of self.  Boundaries are challenging to build and even more difficult to reinforce.   As we progress through life, we will not always please everyone, but with integrity we will continue to prosper.
