"Suffering only shows where you are attached."
Ram Dass
In the midst of an innocent conversation, someone may say something that unexpectedly stabs us in the heart. We immediately shut down or retaliate with harsh words. The innocent person does not understand what just happened. They are confused as to why we are overreacting to the information shared.
Even when we are told that our perception is not what was meant, our walls are up and our temper is festering. It is only when we invest our energy into the source of our pain that we will come to peace. Establishing clarity helps us to understand our spontaneous combustion towards innocent conversations.
Tracing the roots back into time, we will eventually understand the connection. As we unravel the tight knot of pain, we can identify the original time this pain occurred. With clarity, we can resolve this issue. When we heal wounds from the past, the attachment is broken and no longer will we be the victim.
