"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
Albert Camus
Nothing can minimize the joy found in the presence of spring blossoms. After a long winter, the burst of color lifts the spirits with a promise of what is yet to come. Autumn leaves, however, have different coloring, and they hold us in the present moment, lingering. It is a time for reflection of what has already passed.
With evenings coming earlier and a chill filling the air, we can become more pensive. Life seems to settle in a little more closely and we have the tendency to wrap our emotions tightly around us. We can become reclusive which has its merits, but nurturing the body, mind, and soul needs to continue for balance.
To maintain alignment, adjust routines. Instead of eliminating outdoor time, bundle up and go for walks. In the absence of friendly gatherings, spend more time with a journal or other forms of artistic expression. Leaves are falling all around us. Glance down and discover a lonely leaf just waiting for us to carry it home!
