Slither In The Grass
"Observe your thoughts, don't believe them."
Eckhart Tolle
When snakes cannot shed their skin, they get sick and die with no one ever seeing the new pattern they were about to display. There definitely is a lesson in this portrayal. Life is nothing but change and we are beckoned to adjust accordingly. It is healthy for us to constantly adjust our body, mind, and soul in order to reach fulfillment.
We are called to release the past, forgive the present, and lessen the focus on the future. In the present moment, we begin to sense alternatives in our assessments which facilitate forward movement. When we choose not to adapt, we begin to slither, cautiously creating our personal venom capable of killing ourselves or others.

Sense the Spirit
"When you are present you can sense the spirit ...
the one consciousness in every creature...
and love it as yourself.'
Eckhart Tolle
As a Christian, the instant we judge, we fall out of definition. As a spiritualist, as soon as we criticize an individual for anything, we are no longer in oneness. We cannot help notice darkness, but we can begin to quietly emit light and compassion. By nature, we forget to honor and respect. It takes deliberate thought to remain aligned with all people, things, and places.
We can obviously choose not to agree, but we do not need to persecute either. When we place our lovely self 'above' another, our descent has already started. Rather than creating expectations of others, we can await to see what they unfold. It's okay not to understand and simply remain in oneness observing and not extending our energy.

Stay Aligned
"Use your senses fully
and let the alert stillness
within you be the perceiver,
rather than your mind."
Eckhart Tolle
Our mind reacts to situations, based upon previous experiences. It does not filter out the differences between the past and the present, so the information our mind provides is not necessarily aligned with the current situation. It is colored by numerous incidents that may not have any bearing on the present moment.
We need to pause prior to accepting an automated response. If we examine what is before us rather than reacting with stored information, we will produce healthier actions that best represent our nature. Is this information true? Is this situation tainted by my past? How do the feelings in my heart relate to the emotions in my mind?
We are constantly changing and at times we are not even aware of our shifts. We will remark about things once important to us, but suddenly realize we no longer are interested. We may describe our selves in a particular way that is no longer true. When we are in touch with our feelings, we will stay aligned and feel more confident about who we truly are.
