The more one tries to ignore his or her fears, the more likely they will have nightmares. Nightmares are frequently in reference to unsolved problems. The issues we repress can take the form of distorted dreaming to gain our attention. Our physical health can also play into the darkness of dreamtime.
When we ignore our problems in daytime, they may surface in the form of nightmares. The more we ignore them, the more they may recur. It is healing to explore these dreams and discover the issues they represent. It is especially helpful to remember that fear is often not based upon facts.
Once we identify a problem as a conflict with authority or facing the manipulation by someone, resolution can begin. The basis of the problem may stem from the distance between who we truly are and who we are trying to be. The divide between these two selves can well be the source of dark nightmares.
