Smorgasbord

"Life is like a giant smorgasbord of more delicious alternatives that you can ever
hope to taste. So you have to reject somethings you want in order to get
other things you want more."
Ray Dalio

'Tis the season to find ourselves sitting in the midst of unknown people or sandwiched in small rooms where loud voices congregate. Our attention strays from conversation and our eyes are attracted to someone who is standing out for no apparent reason. Is it a certain presence that attracts us or bits of unusual conversation?

Gatherings are like a smorgasbord with a colorful assortment. We can pick and choose what we want to ingest and acknowledge what does not digest very well at all.  We are more likely to expand ourselves if we sample in small portions, going back for more even when the line thins. When we sample, there is an opportunity to grow.

Now is a perfect time to visit small shops to wander as entrepreneurs tend to be unique individuals. Become aware of small groups popping up for connection. Perhaps we need a little spice in our lives whether it is sprinkled on our palate or entertained by our brain. Dare to be different in thought, word, and deed.
