Infuse The Soul

"When you just sit in silence, the wind blows
through you, the sun shines in you, and you realize
you are not your body, you are everything."
Anita Krizzan

Upon return from a six hour drive, I settled into my comfy chair to catch up on life that surrounds me.  Monkeypox, global food crisis, world chaos, and unprovoked violence.  The calm created during the last few days, quickly drains away.

With deliberate energy, I push unnecessary drama from my mind's eye and gaze upon the numerous signs of spring.  I welcome the connection experienced with the array of colors and lush landscapes just waiting to fill me with peace and tranquility.

There are reasons for the human experience, but there are also benefits when we  remember we are not just singular.  We are an important piece to the greater perfection of infinite energy.  It is when we choose to expand with all there is, we infuse the soul.

Trigger Renewal

"You're not a mess. You're human."
Lori Deschene

Whether we are experiencing moments of weakness or days of struggle, it is important to remember that negative occurrences are an integral part of human development. The intention is not to get buried in the 'fallout', but rather to set sights beyond the dark moment.

We show our smiling faces out into the world while darkness clutches at our core.  Whether the lesson at hand is a repeat of the past or a new hurdle to be jumped, we can easily forget to utilize our support system.

Stand, feeling our feet root themselves deep into Mother Earth.  Stretch, extending our arms up towards the sky.  Reach out to a trusted friend to release built up fears or write until the darkness fades away.  Action triggers a renewal for our spirit to face another day.

Our Gardens Tilled For Others

"Plant so your own heart will grow."
Hafiz

Just as we carefully plant selected seeds into rich soil, our words need to be selected wisely as they will be capable of enriching others.  Our exchanges can be presented with sunshine,  awakening hope in others.

It is important to remember that the seeds we plant grow not only within us, but are scattered  into the minds of others.  Our voice may be reflecting personal current or past lessons, while at the same time may be a stimulant to those who are bystanders.

As our thoughts blossom from seed to bud to blossoming color, they uplift us into higher states of being.  In addition, however, our fragrance of learning rides on the breeze attracting the attention of others.  We benefit from our planting, but it also makes a difference in those who surround us.

Illumination of the Soul

"Beauty is the illumination of your soul."
John O'Donohue

Recently, I have been noticing shifts in the appearances of those who are aging.  There are those who take their wrinkles in stride while others resort to cosmetic surgery.  I do not believe there is a right nor wrong, but this makes me aware of my definition of beauty.

To me, all children are brilliantly beautiful as their radiance beams freely without mental or emotional censorship.  When I consider my connection with kindred spirits, beauty is based on the illumination of compassion, courage, and generosity.

Too often, we hide our uniqueness out of fear of rejection.  We stifle our creative expression out of fear of judgment.  We adorn our physical bodies hoping to distract from our fear of not being enough.  We must step through these false fears and shine, baby shine!

Pause Within Chaos

"I invite peace into my life today."
Lee Harris

As much as we avoid conflict, it truly can be pivotal to securing a sense of peace.  What we avoid does not create a healthy sense of calm as it is festers beneath the surface of our awareness.  Nor is it productive to become doused in an over bearing sense of isolation.

Situations are not always as simple as being bad or good.  The importance is within our method of dealing with annoyance.  How we handle disruption is key.  Do we mentally scream and shout or do we mindfully reframe?

Lee Harris suggests we use mantras such as, "I invite Peace into my life today" or "I invite Peace onto the planet today."  These words can initiate a gentle pause within our chaotic brains.  The moment of pause can redirect our thinking and actions.

The Presence of Fear

"It's time to become masterful
at fueling the light."
Cheryl Richardson

We can be engulfed by fear rather easily.  It is best to not repress it, as it will bubble back up and impact our state of mind.  If we choose to avoid and ignore its presence, it will find new ways to trigger our thoughts.

When we are able to recognize the presence of fear and choose to move beyond it, we will maintain a higher level of emotional stability.  Fear feels heavy and dark, while it grasps our heart and deliberately squeezes.  Love is light and illuminating, offering a sense of freedom.

So as fear arises, immediately acknowledge its presence, then release. Scribble dark thoughts across the pages of a journal or seek a comforting hug from a kindred spirit.  We can imagine our lovely selves bathed in loving light while listening for insight and wisdom.

Options Are Endless ...

"It's very important to know when it is time to step back from the old,
from engagement in order to get your balance back."
Lee Harris

The world is not the same, so our life time practices for support may need to be enhanced.  What once worked in temporary situations may have become squashed by increasing chaos and expectations.

Old routines may no longer reach the dynamics of now percolating schedules.  A quick meditation, a few yoga poses, and a daily dose of inspiration may no longer bring us the balance we so desperately need.  Our desire to reach out to others may also be depleting.

Drag a chair into the shade and take a personal inventory of what you now need. Maybe it is more deliberate conversation with a kindred spirit.  It could be a quick walk around the neighborhood with out iPods.  Buy some spring flowers to brighten personal space.  Rub a favorite lotion into tired feet.  The options are endless ...

Women with Longing

"Even though you know you're creative and talented,
your gifts aren't fully impacting others in ways
that truly reflect your value."
Claire Zammit

Women of today, no matter how accomplished,  are experiencing an unrecognized longing buried deeply inside.  It is not necessarily a  project that has been left undone, but rather a desire for a deeper reflection of the self.

As women become aware of their inner strengths, a desire to enhance life begins to stir.  As personal value is recognized and embraced, women openly seek ways to nurture, deepen, and heighten experiences.

It is important to ask our lovely selves, "What is it that I need?" or "How can I be present in the lives of loved ones, without interfering?" or "In what way can I bring more of my inner self out into the world?".   As women sit with this longing, expectations become reality.

Consideration for Possibilities

"Sometimes, finally seeing things from someone
else's perspective can totally change your life."
The Universe

I follow the trail to my favorite bench where I usually contemplate my view of choice.  This morning, I decide to not shut myself away in the midst of nature, but to remain present to watch others stroll past me.

I begin to notice how hikers carefully choose path ways, while using differing cadences as they pass by me.  I open myself to what he or she might be seeing or imagining as they seek their own quiet destination.

It is through observation that I am moved by the presence of fellow humans following the trail.  Speculating about their individual preferences, my limited perspectives flourish with considerations for new possibilities.

Avoid Dominant Control

"Do not try to impose your limits to others because everyone
has different talents and every talent's limits are different."
Mehmet Murat ildan

We have the desire to use our voice, to speak our truth, and to be heard.  We may struggle to own this right, and once maintained,  our voice may override the voices of others.  In our new found power, respect for other opinions must be utilized.

In our efforts to deepen our authentic voice, we often forget that the uniqueness of others, must be honored as well.  It is in the blending of inspiration that perceptions become more colorful with richer hues.

Finding our voice is a wonderful thing, but it must not be at the cost of silencing others.  We must exercise our volume control so we can hear diverse opinions which help to shape our own.  Our voices are meant to be a contributing source, not a dominant control.

Releasing Inner Music

"As the fire of music awakens the soul, love sounds
within us where no one else can hear."
Mark Nepo

Music has a way of stirring our soul, prompting creative inner landscapes, and lifting our spirits.  We can find our lovely selves easily escaping into uncharted dreams and healthier horizons.

There is a tendency for our bodies to decompress, as we listen to a favorite musician.  With our self-imposed boundaries relaxed, we open to synchronicities and speculations we too often ignore.

Peace begins within and slowly ripples out into our surroundings.  The loving vibration is felt by others, and they too begin to contribute a kinder approach to life.  We begin in spite of chaos, to share our inner music in calm gestures, out into our world.

Two Sides of Me

"At the center of your being, you have the answer;
you know who you are and you know what you want."
Lao Tzu

One part of me expands with the rhythm of life, bathing in sunshine and dreaming in starlight, while the other part of me attempts to hide in the shadows, minimizing my presence in the greater scheme of things.

Whiplash occurs as I bounce back and forth between these two dynamics.  Being lost in nothingness stunts awareness and micromanaging disallows the flow of the Universe. Emotionally and physically, the cost of not being aligned takes a toll.

These opposing parts can gently be brought together.  In the morning,  I ask myself 'what is the most important thing I wish to attract today?'    In the evening, I ask 'what was significant about this day?'  These two questions tend to increase meaning in my life and appreciation for what is already present.

Remade Continually

"I am made, and remade continually.  Different
people draw different words from me."
Virginia Woolf

From the most insignificant gesture to a grand stand outburst, there is something for me to experience.  I am impacted by those I come in contact with as I am an observer, seeking insight from the diverse natures of humans.

I hope to project an openness willing to listen without judgment.  I will ask questions, not to challenge, but to discover deeper meaning. Even when I do not agree, there will be wisdom buried and hidden in the stringing of words.

We may bear resemblance of who we were when we first met, but neither of us will be the same.  We will be using different words stemming from updated thoughts and colored by inspirations.  Hopefully, all exchanges will be laced with integrity, honorably reflecting our  authentic natures.

The Exchange of Messages

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born
until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."
Anais Nin

Individuals enter our lives bringing a vast amount of information that will either be welcomed or discarded.  Extraordinary is the day,  when we encounter a person who draws us into his or her remarkable presence, awakening inner movement within our being.

If we feel puzzled by the vibration emanating from one other, we can inquire within as to what is to be learned from this experience.  Messages, after all, may be non-verbal, verbal or physically displayed.

Opportunities to awaken inner parts of our soul, continuously make themselves available. There are times, however, when we are simply not ready or do not understand the value of what is being presented.  We also may be the one illustrating the lesson, so carefully speak and reflect truth, holding our lovely selves accountable.

Enlivened Choice

"Pay attention to what's limiting you,
you may be thinking it's supporting you."
Jaya Bhateja

Solitude is an essential element for creating harmony within the body, mind, and spirit union.  It is inside of stillness that we can hear our heart and receive insight and guidance.  Too much of any one element, however, can throw us off course.

Solitude is an opportunity to take an inventory of what is supporting us and what needs to be replaced by new lively connections.  We, once, may have been stimulated by an activity that now has become routine and unproductive.

Sit quietly, while taking an inventory of what currently sounds exciting or engaging.  What  new adventure will trigger deeper or more creative connections?  What pathways can we use to replace fear or apathy?  Simple action begins the journey of enlivened choice.

Get Ready To Leap!

"People will reveal who they are if you just pay attention."
Germany Kent

As kindred spirits, it is important to notice heightened creative endeavors of each other and to reflect support, but also notice emotional boundaries shifting.  Are we living precariously through others or do we feel drained by those around us? Setting judgment aside, we can evaluate what we need to feed our soul.

Inventory community resources for extending artistic curiosity.  Explore new walking trails, parks and gardens.  Scroll through contacts and increase connections with those who make the heart sing!  Create a new routine that will enliven the body, mind, and soul.

In this present moment, we are in a position to feed our soul and ditch the fear.  It is time to evaluate, choose intrigue, and leap through inflexible, self-imposed boundaries.  The time is now!

Courage With Gentle Rendering

"As delicate as flower, as tender and kind in a harsh
environment is not weakness, it's courage."
Luffina Lourduraj

In these chaotic times, we are called to shift and realign at a moment's notice.  Detours and nudges for change may feel harsh, but when followed we may discover opportunities offering calm and peace.  It is vital to take action to avoid becoming stuck in fear.

We are experiencing the unknown in a variety of ways, and the pressure may feel overwhelming.  As we stoke our inner fires for determination and steadfastness, we are reminded of our ability to stay within the moment.

We have choice: recalling the weaknesses of our past, projecting dread into the unknown future, or relying upon support from the Universe in each given moment.  As we mindfully align our body, mind and spirit, courage begins to propel us forward with gentle rendering.

The Death of Kindred Spirits

"Invisible threads are the strongest ties."
Friedrich Nietzsche

With the intention to compile a list of friends, I scrolled through my contacts.  It did not take long to notice that several important people in my life had passed and I had not yet deleted them from my lengthy list.

I fully acknowledge the death of kindred spirits and find my self willing to let them go into other realms as we will surely meet again in a different time and space.  There is the desire, however, to sustain the gifts they had brought into my life.

When the deceased present them selves in my mind, I do not have morbid thoughts.  I feel a warm glow as I remember their approach to life or their unique laughter or the wisdom shared.  I do not keep them bound to this world, as my intention is simply to keep their amazing spirit alive.

Question Security

"What is most familiar to you may not be the most
supportive, and what you thought was your security,
may come into question."
Lena Stevens, Shaman

In this human experience, it is easy to fall into automatic pilot.  We create an original routine, but fail to replace it as we stretch and grow.  There are stages of development, cycles of repeated patterns, and the need to continuously be aware.

At one time, a chosen routine might have been necessary, but when evaluated as time passes, we can be inspired to enhance or discard it all together.  When we give consideration to breathing new life into daily schedules, we begin to heighten our awareness.

Change the location of a daily practice.  Select a new author to broaden perspectives.  Establish a new walking routine.  Reach out to an inspiring friend before there is a need. Determine what would best boost self-esteem, offer a sense of worthiness and create joy in a personal world.

Paint Surroundings

"There is really only one way to restore a world that is dying
and in disrepair: to make beauty where ugliness has set in."
Toko-pa Turner

When we take our individual gift and apply it in unique ways, we create beauty in the world.  If a friend is grieving, and we are silently present, we help lift the darkness of sorrow.  If we can assist an elder in need in our own unique way, they feel seen.  Both gestures bring beauty into life.

It is through giving that the world can become a better place.  Within our own life experiences, there are endless opportunities to bring living color to floundering drab hues.  By offering numerous small gestures, we are assisting the world to shift and heal.

There is beauty in the act of giving whether we are picking up random debris or admiring a tree.  As we view the world through eyes of love, and utilize authentic gifts, we paint our surroundings with beauty.

A Daughter at Forty-Two

"I wait for what comes and experience
the joy and delight of the unexpected."
Diane L. Dunton

Forty two years ago, on Mother's Day, my daughter came into this world to surprise her three brothers.  From that day forward, she was groomed by her siblings to not be prissy,  to wrestle when necessary, and to stand strong in personal endeavors.

Not really knowing how to raise a girl, she and I learned to love, trust and discover. Our bond heightened and strengthened our life experiences. From a "Save the Earth" girl to an accomplished professional woman, she extends the importance of bonding to her two young children.

I never placed a ceiling over her head, nor did I aspire to whom she would become.  I simply fueled her fires with my constant love and unwavering support.  Her life is filled with authenticity and inspiration.  I celebrate how she has carved out her life and the beauty she reaps.

A Son at Fifty-One

"See with a different eye.
visualize with a colorful mind,
manifest your thoughts with the energy within."
Michael Bassey Johnson

Opportunities to learn from children began with the Head Start Program, then pre-school development, followed by day care teacher and director.  So I was well versed with kiddos from diverse nationalities, varying incomes, and numerous family dynamics.

Out of my four children, my second son, born on this day fifty-one years ago, challenged my skills repeatedly.  With each stage of growth, my  knowledge expanded and perspectives shifted to understand the individualistic needs of my son.

This challenged child learned to use his stubbornness to endure opposition for what he stood for.  His endless energy propelled him farther than expectations.  His deeply buried heart found ways to heal through on going random acts of kindness.  This handsome and exceptionally successful man continues to unfold in ways that make his momma proud.

Dreams Become Reality

"Images joined images, words began to form,
and a complex and potent speech unfolded."
Jean Houston

Numerous highly acclaimed individuals obtained world changing ideas by retaining dreams. Whether nocturnal or day dreaming, inspiration beckons us to follow through with our ideas.   If we invest our time and attention, dreams become reality.

Our creative imagery is unique and worthy of exploration, whether we are an elementary novice or established presence.  A small nugget of insight, once acted upon, can propel us into deeper thinking, influential action and greater sense of self.

Dab a drop of essential oil behind both ears. Wear an article of clothing that is soft and comforting. Listen to favorite music.  Treat the self to a morsel of comfort food. Mentally or physically, view landscapes.  As we enhance our senses, dreams will grow.

Bittersweet ...

"I have laughed more than daffodils and
cried more than June."
Sanober Khan

Mother's Day is often times bittersweet.  Old memories surface with a sense of joy, but then can be followed by a sense of loss ... as nothing lasts forever.  We notice a woman weeping, but we are not certain if she is mourning the loss of her partner, child, or faithful dog.

We celebrate Mother's Day giving respect and honor, but hidden behind our mind's closed doors, linger thoughts of rejection, dedication, and relationships left undone.  Unfinished thoughts weigh heavily within.

While some glory in thoughts of a mother's touch, others focus on the mother's love they extended.  Memory can be selective, downplaying reality and embellishing scenarios to support Mother's Day celebrations.    This day, too, shall pass.

Progression of Women

"Women are intrinsically mystical, that is, we tend to
experience direct connection with the Divine."
Joan Borysenko

Women seem to find a deep connection with whom they revere during meditation, prayer, or simply being in nature.  They are open to receiving messages from words printed upon a page or day dream escapades.

The journey of women is enhanced by a smile freely given or the sighting of a beautiful view.  Inspiration hovers, waiting to be recognized by those traveling upon their chosen path. They embrace wisdom discovered in scripture, sacred discussions and journal unveilings.

Women are progressing forward, navigating new identities found through the integration of  feminine and masculine alignment.  They are processing experiences with a spiritual point of view which embraces all of humankind.

Spectrum of Power

"And your power comes from your ability to choose
your all-powerful thoughts and send them out
in any direction you decide upon."
Mike Dooley

We stand upon a platform with the option to speak gently into the heavens or direct our  words into darkness. Our words are powerful at all times whether we are focused or babbling.  Either way, it is important to hold our lovely selves accountable.

If we choose to detach and simply observe and listen to who or what we project, we begin to understand the need for alignment between all parts of the self.  Clarity presents our constant connection with all there is and the importance of our messages.

We are upon this earth at this time equipped with our unique personality and perspectives.  They are meant to be shared, during this time and space.  We are encouraged to alternate between calculated focus and lofty detachment to experience the full spectrum of power.

Unbalance Needing Correction

"While fear of pain is a natural human reaction,
it is particularly dominant in our culture, where
we consider pain as bad or wrong."
Tara Brach

Rather than trying to control our bodies, we can take pause and listen to them.  Our bodies speak to us, alerting us of an unbalance needing correction.  As we reach for the pain killer, question what is prompting the symptom we are experiencing.

If we take to our bed with a pounding migraine, what does this allow us to do?  Does it provide a valid excuse to skip and avoid an event?  Our stomach revolts with flu like symptoms prior to facing a life change.  Can this heighten our awareness of just how deeply our fear resides?

Our body is an instrument that can lead us to discovery of peace and calm.  If we follow the pain, uncover the origin and connection with emotions, we can restore balance and accurate choices to enhance living.

See It!

"If we let go, time carries us the way a river
carries a boat with no oars."
Mark Nepo

Often, we find our lovely selves adrift triggering deep senses of uncertainty.  We cannot see beyond the bend in the road and may even feel powerless in the life we lead.  Fear and doubt cloud our vision and unsuspecting opportunities silently slip by.

If we can stay in the moment without dipping into darkness, we can use clear vision to determine what we need to develop for the life we long to live.  While imagining a desired outcome, engage friends to implement the dream.

Focus thoughts upon a positive outcome.  "See it" vividly unfolding, providing expansion, enhancement, and purpose.  Allow positive thoughts to support, activate, and claim whatever the Universe provides.

Navigate or Burn Bridges

"To know that in myself,
waiting to be found,
there is a light."
James Baldwin

No matter how broken we may feel nor how lost we may be, a flicker of light prevails.  The flame never goes out entirely and awaits a personal application of fuel. Never is there an intent to burn intensely for endless amounts of time.

Light can guide us as we navigate our path or it can dramatically burn bridges to ultimately leave situations behind.  It is to be respected, activated and regulated to adjust to individual scenarios.

As we walk through the chaotic darkness in life, feeling alone and vulnerable, it is anchoring to remember that our light continues to shine brightly.  If we project our inner radiance, we will attract like minded people, beneficial scenarios, and rekindle depths of silence.

Prior to Eruptions

"Choosing not to experience pain, anger, other
intense feelings could cause those feelings to
become buried deep into your physical body."
Daily Om

It is unwise to treat our lovely selves like a garbage can, adding more trash, pushing everything down, and not emptying until overflow.  We cannot help how we feel, but we can choose our reaction.

The key is discovering a comfortable way to recognize, respect, and release how we feel.  The process can be running, yoga, singing or dancing, gardening ... the list is endless.  It is not as important what we do, as it is to actually choose and take action.

Unresolved emotions spiral downward within us, swirling and causing additional discomfort.  Avoidance can intensify physical ailments and denial shades perspectives. Create a healthy practice to honor and process sentiments, so it is in place prior to eruptions.
