Columbus or Jung?

"...Columbus was searching with a predetermined sense of conquest ...
and Carl Jung was searching inwardly with an undetermined sense of love."
Mark Nepo

The story I was originally told in history class about Christopher Columbus is a far cry from my understanding today.  The concepts of Carl Jung were basic to my learning, but not necessarily my chosen techniques.  Both Columbus and Jung had agendas, but motivations were drastically different.

What is your intention for the day?  Have you given it any thought?  And what motivates this action? Is it to improve life, to preserve what we have or create our heart's desire?  Without intention, we may wander without production.  Not having motivation, we may not even wander.

If we maintain an awareness of how we treat others or how we treat ourselves, we will pass through life intending to assist others as well as ourselves.  If we are mindful of being driven for the good of all, we benefit personally and collectively.  We get to choose whether we intend to conquer like Columbus or to motivate like Jung with a sense of love.
