"A life is not important except in the impact
it has on other lives."
Jackie Robinson
It is not how we have been treated that shapes our lives. It is how we use what has been given to us whether joy or sorrow. Anything can be a catalyst for human growth. If blessed with an exceptional mom, celebrate that. If a mother was absent from life, use the experience of loss to bring kindness to one other.
Not being blessed with a loving mother, I became determined to become one. I have four remarkable children, the youngest was born on Mother's Day. After the three boys, she was certainly a surprise and a gift that keeps on giving. I was far from perfect, but I surely tried to do my very best.
My professional career was dedicated to welfare of children. I was able to take my wound and use it as a positive. So whatever is being experienced today, shift it into affirmative action or dedication to future kindness to others. If you were lavished with love, then share by example. Let us all bring the element of love into our wounded world.
