"Love is wise;
hatred is foolish."
Bertrand Russell
Communities are growing closer together and strangers are being a little kinder towards each other. As diversity comes together, we can offer more space for differences and focus more keenly on our sameness.
To move forward together, we can listen more closely and speak less. We are all experiencing an unique life and we cannot possibly be all the same ... and oh how boring that might be! We are not called to edit the lives of others, but to find similarities so we all can survive together.
It is foolish to believe shaming someone else in order to feel superior serves mankind. It is foolish to ignore what happens when the hand reaches out in violence, rather than to lift one up. It is foolish to look one other directly into his or her eyes and not see a child of God.
