"Most cultures have a rite or ritual of some kind that marks the end of childhood and the assumption of the responsibilities and standing of an adult."
William Kent Krueger
Rituals are not for church alone and they are no longer restricted to religious ceremony. People began to personalize their faith outside of the established form using candles, flowers, and newly created spaces. Expanded ceremonies included meditation, visualization, chanting, music and of course candles.
Whether in the garden or on a nature trail, rituals expand our personal faith. Rather than waiting for Sunday church or Saturday temple, one could be supported more regularly. Individuals created rituals whether grand or small to utilize a stronger belief system. No longer limited to birthdays or anniversaries, celebrations expanded.
Creating our rituals assists us in maintaining a stronger connection with the Divine. We do not have to be at a special establishment to engage, as Spirit dwells within us. Increasing the awareness of the presence of God, enrichens our life, lifts our spirits, and impacts our presence in the busyness of living.
