"Remember, you have a lifeline, a golden thread of
light, that you may pull when times are hard."
Steven Charleston
Do not wait for a crisis before developing a connection for support. Build a network of friends, neighbors or professionals. In addition, strengthen the life line between the self and higher powers. It does not matter if one turns to nature, the universe or higher beings. The strength of the connection is the most important factor.
Communication with whom ever we hold as holy, needs to be part of our daily routine. The cord between ourselves and spirit is elastic and ever present. One does not have to be on bended knee nor in a chapel for prayer. And prayer does not have to be in a perfectly memorized rendition.
Talk to the Divine throughout the day. Let the worldly self be connected with the inner spirit. Perhaps one may even have a counsel of ancestors. Our life will be more aligned when we use the spiritual resources around us. When we reach out, we must be mindful to listen and watch for answers. There are also times we may have to tug a little harder!
