Maintenance for Gifts

                                                              FROM WILD CHILD
"Tips to help you control your gift rather than resent it."
WILD CHILD is a page on Facebook that offers great information.  Discussing empaths and highly sensitive people, they make six suggestions for helping such a person learn to monitor gifts rather than resent abilities.
Smudging/Cleansing:  As sensitive individuals, we unfortunately pick up negative thoughts, and intentions from others.  These unwanted energies need to be cleansed from us and this can be done through the ritual of burning sage and allowing the smoke to swirl in front and in back of you or one can take a shower visualizing unwanted particles washed off the body.
Energy:  It is important to seek an energy worker who can balance our bodies to be grounded or align our energy.  There are a variety of ways for this to be accomplished: massage, acupuncture, Qugong, Tai Chai, Reiki, Tuning Forks, Capacitar, Crystals, EFT, Restorative Touch, to mention just a few.
Meditation:  Whether walking in nature or sitting in a specific pose a person meditates to establish a quiet mind opening communication or connection with the Divine.  This may be a prayer form as well.
Boundaries:  Although we desire to be compassionate individuals, one must have strong but flexible ways of regulating the depths of interaction.  The goal is to be present with a person without being sucked into drama or chaos.
Shield:  Unfortunately, there are those who feel empowered by draining all energy out of another person.  An imaginary protective shield can be worn as a coat protects us from a bitter wind.  It is impossible to know the depths of negative energy as one forages through life.
Quiet:  When we are smudged/cleansed and our energies are balanced, we are open for meditation/prayer to strengthen our connection with all there is.  With flexible boundaries and a protective shield, we can maintain a quiet interior to enhance our understanding of both the physical and spiritual world.
By practicing these coping skills, we will navigate through life without being drained by unnecessary baggage, and maintain an awareness of peace in the midst of chaos.  IF we remain aligned with our body, mind, and soul, life will be embraced with our best sense of self.
