Get Ready!

"You learned when you were ready.
You changed when you were able."
John Mark Green

Prompts consistently flow through our thoughts hoping we will pay attention and establish fresh agendas. Random comments strike a chord within, poking us to take action and follow through with new intention. Unfortunately, we are our own worst enemy as we minimize and ignore creative ways to trigger expression and joy.

We even delay our progress by remembering all of the times we turned away from opportunities that seemed open ended as if it were reason to not take advantage of the present moment. Missed opportunities may be plentiful, but they are not reason enough to remain in our shell.

Even when we have stored past insights, it is never too late to unearth them and begin to create. Creating is not just an action with creative flair. It is not limited to an artists easel or the process of journaling. We are unique and have every right to express our visions in a meaningful way, whether designing clothes, producing recipes, digging in the soil, or snapping photos in the mind. It is never too late to begin!

Parcels of Light

"You are not the darkness you endured.
You are the light that refused to surrender."
John Mark Green

Therapeutic goals encourage the release of the past in order to make room for healing and creating.  Progression cannot be activated if we are bound by old barriers.  It can be helpful, however, to measure just how far we have traveled beyond said obstacles.

We can activate personal support by recalling resilience mustered in various scenarios and the use of determination to by pass others. As we focus on our previous proficiencies, we can become more determined to persevere while seeking positive outcome.

As we strengthen the image of being a light in our own darkness, we begin to create and fine tune skills that fuel, ignite and illuminate our passage.  We are more apt to find our way carrying parcels of light rather than wandering in the darkness.

Artistic Follow Through

"Some people have a hidden richness waiting to be discovered. They don't advertise it, but it's there for those willing to scratch beneath the surface."   John Mark Green

Beneath the surface simmers an interest we hide from others. It may be as simple as coloring with crayons, markers and colored pencils or strenuous as hot yoga. We may not disclose to others our private investment in flute lessons or enrolling in a photography class. Whether it is residue from childhood wishes or sudden insightful desires, we owe it to ourselves to follow through.

Artistic pause accelerates growth in other areas. As we dip our thoughts into colorful fancies, we interrupt mundane thinking and insert new perspectives. Our soul is uplifted by creative expression which impacts our attitudes and life styles.

Creative moments awaken us to beauty.   Shadows and hues impact our moods.  Listen to the changing cadence in music and feel the body respond in positive rhythm. As we welcome various forms of beauty into our routines, the hours turn into strokes of genius.
