Out on a Limb

"Life is a journey, and we must have the courage to step out on a limb
in order to experience its fullest potential."
Shirley MacLaine

Life has a natural flow to it and the more we resist, the bigger the wave. Struggling against the current, resisting forward progress, currents can pull us under. We may climb up a tree thinking we will be saved from drowning, but often times as we go out on a limb, we gain a new perspective.

Rather than swimming upstream, we can view alternatives enabling us to go with life's flow. Instead of forcing against the tide, we linger on the branch connecting with nature and the natural unfolding of life. Symbolism with falling leaves or messages written in the wind inspire us to slow down and discover peace.

Enjoying the oneness of the world, nature provides us with intricate spider webs or the casual flight of a majestic bird. Becoming lofty, we can transcend time and space. The view from the limb broadens our sight and helps to create respect for all creatures, great and small. We are no longer against but flowing with the tide.
