Rash Behavior

"Many of our impulsive urges are our spirit's way
of effortlessly moving us toward right action."
Daily Om

Certainly, we all have experienced the raw end of impulsive behavior; but, what if we gently held the impulse?  If we do not react with a knee jerk response, but choose to open to possibility of what the impulse might imply, we can open the self to a message.

If we take the time to explore what they could mean, we often gain even more insight.  An impulsive thought can enrich our lives without prompting an impulsive action. Hold the impulse and imagine how the thought could enhance the life before you.

The practice of slowing down for evaluation offers heightened direction and trains us to avoid rash decisions.  Our impulses are not 'bad'!  They are a means of expanded communication.  Impulses come from our body with an element of truth and deserve speculation.

Blurred Vision

"There is freedom that comes with awareness because
with it comes the opportunity to make a choice."
Daily Om

We are called to be an authentic presence in our world, presenting with acceptance and compassion.  With our trust and faith in human nature, we can easily be sucked in by those intending to manipulate our gestures of kindness.

We cannot allow our emotions to blur our vision.  Clarity is better found when we pay attention to the sensations we are feeling in our inner being.  We can choose to recognize our 'gut reactions' as information is funneled through all of our senses.  We do have a built in alarm system that we need not over ride.

Through out history, the kindhearted have been hoodwinked and the poor exploited.  These situations do not sit easily with me; but, I am truly puzzled by the rapists attacking physically, mentally, and spiritually.  How can there be any sense of  'glory' by using these horrific measures?  It is vitally important how we treat others, but not at the cost of personal respect and honor.

Extending Goodness

"Though our gift may not always elicit the response we might desire,
when it is sincere and from the heart we giving to the universe and will
receive it back, though it may seem to come from a different source."
Daily Om

Let's not limit our sense of gifting no matter how large or small.  When we feel the urge to give we need to follow through.  God has an extended view of our needs and wishes and when Divine Spirit nudges us our response needs to assist in the plan.

We may share a favorite keepsake with a friend and then be disappointed when they do not seem to appreciate the item at all.  The friend might be a middle man and pass it on to someone who adores it.  Without expectation of a certain result, we can enjoy the act of extending goodness.

Whatever kindness we render to the world, returns to us.  It may not be in the exact wrapping we visualized and it might even be greater than expected.  The intention is to set a pattern of sharing kindness, just for the joy of it.  We trust as we pay it forward, that goodness in deed will be returned.
