Caretakers of the World

"How surely gravity's law,
strong as an ocean current,
takes hold of even the smallest thing
and pulls it toward the heart of the world."
Rainer Maria Rilke

In spite of our resistance, Divine Spirit holds us close to Mother Earth.   We can run, leap or fly, but we will repeatedly be called back to face our fears.  All forms of nature reach out to us ... water, earth, fire or air ... vying to support us in moving forward.

We disrespect our resources by polluting the air and contaminating the waterways.  Species of animals become extinct and abused by the carelessness of man. Our land is filled with chemicals, impacting the quality of food we grow.  We indeed are very poor caretakers of the world.

Rainer Maria Rilke writes, "If we surrendered to earth's intelligence we could rise up rooted like trees." If we would truly listen and live in balance with all there is, we would be healthier and create a higher quality of life for those we leave behind.  It really could be that simple.
