"To ignore, repress, or dismiss our feelings is to fail to listen
to the stirrings of the Spirit within our emotional life."
Brennan Manning
Our exposure to others has been quite limited these last few months. Possibly, we are keeping our fears or concerns repressed not to scare our mates or children or friends. And as we house the building pile of random thoughts, the word of the Divine becomes distorted, muddled, or worse yet, unheard.
No matter how small a living space might be, surely there is a small patch of grass for one to stand with bare feet to feel Mother Nature. Too easily we dismiss what supports us by thinking we must make an entire journey to the gym, park, or massage parlor in order to reach peace from the weight sagging our shoulders.
Something is surely better than nothing ... like a wisp of silent prayer while folding laundry, offering up gratitude during a shower, or beam kindness into the food cooking on the stove to nurture all. The amazing thing about Sacred Divinity is it can be really quite simple. It is the human being who complicates simplicity in a false attempt at perfection. Be still in a break of silence and hear the words of God.
