What Matters in the End

"Every day brings a chance for you to draw in a breath,
kick off your shoes, and dance."
Oprah Winfrey

Within the rhythms of life, we find our lovely selves dancing with diverse partners, learning new steps, grasping hands, and sometimes stepping on toes.  Whether we are rotated forward or left in a spin, we choose between a spicy salsa or a slow two step experiencing love within.

The body, mind and spirit react to the energies entering our space.  They can make the hair stand up on the back of the neck or create an experience of feeling home deep in our core..  In the arms of a partner we can feel the urge to run or enjoy a caress wishing it to last forever more.

Whether we have been taught explicit steps and forms or follow uncharted melodies, life is an unfolding dance.  In the end, when the music no longer plays, and our feet are in need of rest, will it really matter if we had worn gloves on our hands or followed the beat of our heart?

Catch the Wave ... July 4, 2020

"You have to find what sparks a light in you
so that in your own way can illuminate the world."
Oprah Winfrey

Illuminating the world one by one can trigger the changes our earth so badly desires.  If one person discovers a certain part of himself comes alive when he performs a certain gesture, and he shares that spark with the world, he is contributing to calm and compassion.

We need to erase the false expectation that there is only one mighty act we can perform.  We can not all be Carl Jung or Albert Einstein, but when we blend our abilities together instead of competing, progress will be made.  We all need to shine in our own way.

Today is the Fourth of July, and as we look to the skies thrilled by bursting colors and radiant lights, imagine if one of those individual fireworks symbolized what we have to offer. Let the sky be an example of what peace would look like if we were all sharing contributors rather than heartless men coveting and regulating.  Every time we smile or simply nod our head to a stranger, a wave of kindness begins ... catch the wave!

Stand Back for Wisdom

"Turn your wounds into wisdom."
Oprah Winfrey

Emotional wounds leave scars, but they are not as readily seen.  We can display our broken arm or a terrible burn, but this is not true of emotional pain.  When time is taken to painfully script the experience of our emotional wound, it is no longer a deep dark secret .  Exposing it lessens the pressure of the wound.

As time passes, we can turn back the pages, viewing our experiences from a less emotional stance.  Our scope of the situation broadens and we begin to observe how the experience has changed our way of thinking or our lifestyle.

When we view the experience with a wider lens, we are on the path to healing.  When we no longer focus on just the pain, we begin to perceive divine intervention, personal growth and emotional healing.  If we stand back, our hearts perceive the wisdom.
