Evolving Quest on the Inner Path

"We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection."  Brene Brown

While dealing with my own issues of shame rooted in childhood trauma, I did not believe that I was especially chosen by God for some star performance.  Nor did I believe that I was necessarily paying off karma from some horrible previous life.  What I did believe was shame, while it  may have triggered hibernation,  it also led me onto an inward path of further discovery.

Gravitating towards excessive reading and writing my inward trek became lengthy.  Characters were a part of my lesson plans and thus understanding and recognizing behaviors led me to questions regarding purpose.  As layers of religious traditions or social etiquette were readily available, I continued the lonely yearning for answers seemingly unavailable.

Testing the outer world with my ingrown philosophies, I found mentors and teachers who taught me with kindness and inspiration.  Moving forward once again, I learned to trust and respect the oneness of all peoples.  Spirituality has shown me the sprinkling of stars that have always been with me.  It has sifted the importance out of the past and applied the need for the present.  It is on this stretch I have learned to be aligned and prepared to transition, while my heart gratefully embraces the light.

From Behind Our Shadows

"Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation,
creativity, and change."
Brene Brown

As we unfold into an environment of criticism, it is not very likely that we will be eager to allow ourselves to step out from behind our shadows. When we feel a surge of power, we may choose to utter a few of our ideas, but when we are met with judgment, withdrawal commences.

If we develop relationships with trust and acceptance, we will begin to build a bridge where each person can cross over to the opposite side learning of differences, visions, and unique creativity.  This kind of union offers strength derived from listening and supporting.

Individuals tend to hide their creative side.  They may not see the magic in it as easily as an outsider would.  Why is there a reluctance to keep secret our best creative quality?  By allowing self worthiness to win out over fear, jealousy or small thinking, we learn to embrace vulnerability and succeed.

Creating Bits of Power

"Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic,
imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be
greater than our level of self-acceptance."
Brene Brown

Brene Brown has made an explosive impact upon leading us to self-discovery.  She has appeared on stage as one of us, learning through the trials and errors of life.   She follows up with numerous presentations and authoring engaging books.

While reading Brene Brown's book, DARING GREATLY, the reader can feel a momentum building within creating bits of power.  One begins to realize that Ms. Brown is  giving permission to simply be who we are ... wounds, scars, and all.

Throughout her books, Brene Brown gives numerous examples of her own struggles as well as the challenges of others.  During this time, her words allow us to know we are not the only ones struggling. We begin to understand that resistance and hiding deters honest relations.  When we are able to be vulnerable our connection and sense of belonging begins to thrive.
