Wonder ...

"Wonder is the beginning of wisdom."
Socrates

Curiosity is an important tool. It helps us explore things when we find ourselves wondering about people, places or things. Instead of being simply entertained, we can dig a little deeper to understand what is creating our impromptu feelings and thoughts. We can wonder what the connection is between the past experience and now.

When we notice we are feeling slightly off, do we take the time to figure out why? Do we explore what is creating our mood or can we pinpoint the trigger? Can we discern the message our body, mind or spirit is trying to deliver? Whether it is a feeling of fear or joy, what wisdom might unfold if explored?

Information can be retrieved from retreats and trainings but let us not overlook the random pieces of insight sprinkled throughout our day. Each tidbit, seemingly insignificant, can teach us about our lovely selves which heightens personal power. Explore every nook and cranny and be proud of your authenticity!

Which Will It Be?

"The unexamined life is not worth living."
Socrates

During these transformative times, we have choice.  Do we sit back and allow life to happen to us or channel energy into positive progression? So, which will it be? If we do not like what is before us, allow curiosity to guide us on our way. Take advantage of synchronistic opportunities trying to attract our attention.

Life is a learning experience and if we think of people around us as individual library books, we have a wealth of information at our finger tips. It is not as though we need to believe everything we uncover, but to be exposed to differing opinions. If we don't like the way things are get informed, participate, and chart a new course.

We may not be able to change the world, but we are perfectly capable of changing our experience within it. We cannot sit back and wait for those with greater position or power to alter the nation's course. Granted, there may be very little we can do on a larger scale. but our impact on neighbors, and communities, makes a difference when we use our passion.

Commit to a Decision

"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy,
not on fighting the old, but on building the new."
Socrates

Our thoughts are extremely powerful even when we are not conscious of them.  What we think can be distorted by our ego and discolored by previous experiences.  Once we commit to a decision, it is necessary to be aware and maintain our focus.

The concept is easily projected when compared to a foundation.  If one builds on a few stacked wooden blocks while another perfectly secures numerous cement blocks into rows, which will have the best chance at success?  A half baked idea or one filled with passion.

Using the same analogy, it is important for the ground to be cleared prior to the foundation being laid.  This is true for our choices.  It is imperative to release our old images and begin entirely anew.  Perfectly sound plans can be suffocated from the weight of the past.

Grounded In Spirit

"In order for the mind to see light instead of darkness,
the soul must be turned away from this world, until
its eye can learn to contemplate the true reality and
the supreme good.  Hence there may well be an art
whose aim would be to affect this very thing."

Socrates

I have decided to embrace all parts of my lovely self ... the good the bad, and the ugly.  I am going to bring everything together to form a balance of my true nature.  Courage will stand next to fear to escort it to an appropriate place within me.

My bare feet stand upon Mother Earth digging deep roots to her center.  I feel her lively energy as it courses through my veins.  I stretch my arms above my head,  reaching for all that it holy.  I invite the sacred to descend through my body, heart, and soul.  Together these energies flowing through  me, thoroughly ground me in Spirit.

When I am in this place,  I know without a doubt that I can simply choose to accept life's blessing with a sense of worthiness.   I feel confident I can face challenges in life seeking wisdom rather than punishment or blame.

I am joined with spirit from above and from below.  I experience the Oneness of all there is no matter how it may appear.  In this space in time, I embrace everyone and everything as they too can join me, grounded in spirit.
