When We Put Them Back On ...

""I think there is a pattern in my life, and
I don't want to perpetuate it."
Janet Conner

Patterns can be repeated for years without being realized.  They call for immediate responses that can be outdated and unproductive.  When we become aware of a pattern, we might feel shamed, or disoriented, or lost.  Only when we take action, will these long standing patterns be altered.

When untrue to the authentic self, we wear a misleading mask.  There may be differing masks for our world, family, and self.  When did this coping skill begin?  How painful is it to remove a mask?  Which one will be removed first, ... second ... third?  Will we be tempted to put them back on?  The outcome is to be fully and  divinely as God intended.

Our focus cultivates direction, opportunity, and completion ... then we begin again.  Our energy is not to be used in falsely accommodating others, or responding to a dream that is not our heart's desire.  We are called to boldly stand in our authenticity, proud to be who Spirit intended us to be ... maskless.

Measured Doses

"It is best to give away little doses of your true self and wait
to get a reaction before disclosing any hint of the abyss within."
 Janet Conner

As we slow our thoughts down, we can best choose how much or how little we want to disclose  There are times when advancement is vibrating through us, but it is best if we  allow a period of  incubation  for comprehensive depth.

Filled with excitement of new discovery,  we may be tempted to purge before someone who is not yet prepared for such disclosure.  If we are not careful in choosing our confidants, we may find our excitement squashed, as well as our discovery.  Fear and doubt can make us question what we have just learned as truth.

We choose a doctor, dentist, or lawyer, so why not determine who are best listener might be?  Seek a therapist or kindred spirit, who will emote open hearted listening without judgment.  Begin by sharing a small segment and observe the facial expressions and body language of the selected listener.  These reflections will help discern  how much or how little one divulges.

Walking the Plank

"How can I surrender
when I don't know what will happen?"
Janet Conner

If we do not see the choices before us or cling to repetitive actions that do not offer satisfaction, our lives will remain rigidly stunted.  One must have both faith and trust when walking the plank, unaware of the outcome and realizing there is not a safety net.

If we can visualize an ocean front pier stretching before us, and feel comforted by the solidity of the sand on either side, we are more confident in moving towards the flow of life. The ocean breeze relaxes us into movement while waves beckon us forward.

Silence offers us a voice to be heard.  If we but listen to the voice (verses listening to the ego), expand our lungs with deep breaths (verses stifling chaotic gasps),  and embrace eclectic thoughts (verses preconceived ideas), we will be well on our way to discovery!

Surrender As A Positive

"How can I surrender when I don't know what will happen?"
Janet Connor
WRITING DOWN YOUR SOUL

The word surrender is insinuated with defeat, failure or giving up which really does not accurately define all aspects of this word.  Surrender can be a positive action like wiping a slate clean or cleansing the soul.  Surrender can be the gate one passes through to reach a customized experience to broaden our soul.

If we embrace the positive elements of surrender, we can move forward in an insightful way.  If we choose to ignore the opportunity, we will attract generous helping of chaos to attract our attention once again.  If we still do not listen, life can bring us to our knees.

Let surrender be the activation for renewal.  We accept that current reality is not meeting our needs and we are open to trying new ways.  Express the desire to give up control as we have driven life into the ground with our ego projections.  Be willing to be patient, to slow down, and remain connected to the Divine every step of the way.

Clear Message

"All I know for certain is that I am connected
with something that is loving and wise."
Janet Connor
writing down your soul

In grade school, I began using a diary to express my confusion and uncertainty.  At the college prep academy, I found deeper expression through poetry and expressive writing.  While in college, my writing was actually encouraged by professors.  In opposition to my writings, my father had me burn all of my collections, which was a very clear message.

My desire to write flourished after college graduation and marriage.  Although I didn't share it with anyone, I knew I could depend upon the connection from where my thoughts originated.  I was continuously led to the mysteries of life and expansion to spiritual life.

Well into my years after the children became adults, my tangents grew stronger and some were published along the way.  I no longer cared what others thought, as I believe I was still being used by spirit to express ideas to trigger new thoughts and creative outlets.

Tools that accelerated my skill were:  Reiki Master; Karuna Reiki Master; Shamanic Breath work sessions; Certified in Tuning Forks; Native American Drumming; Sacral Cranial lessons; and rewarding conversations with like minded people.  Eventually, I was led into dream work opening the doors to even more realms and propelled into public speaking.  I am multi-sided not knowing where one edge ends and others blend.  I am indebted to the Divine Spirit for all of the messages given to me.

Waiting Room

"When something upsetting happens, do I stay present and aware or
do I retreat into a mental waiting room until things calm down?
Janet Conner, WRITING DOWN YOUR SOUL

Waiting might be for the other shoe to drop or for the baby to be born or a decision to be made.  It seems to mean sitting still and feels somewhat powerless. Retreating tends to imply pulling back, relocating, or removing oneself.  It is the act of movement, not waiting.

As in many words, the action can be negative or positive.  Waiting for a severe pain to go away, might not be as positive as waiting for the cars to pass.  Retreating to a rejuvenating setting is far better than escaping from a situation.

The idea of a waiting room offers compromise.  To simply sit with a situation, pondering the pros and cons, may be the wisest choice we make.  Rather than avoidance or hiding, we can take pause to evaluate before reentering the questionable situation.  It is a chance to direct our energy towards a positive solution.

Get Out of the Way!

"Once you make it clear to the Universe that you are open,
information and ideas will come through."
Janet Conner

Inspiration triggers desires for creative expression whether it is for music, painting, writing or dance.  Almost immediately, ego interrupts with despairing comments about abilities or age.  If we listen, our creative aspirations fade.  When we are smart enough to squash ego, we begin to hear steps to lead us towards engagement.

Each of us house an ability to create.  This does not mean we will necessarily excel and become famous. It does mean we need to pursue our talent as eloquently as we can.  Perhaps, we will never do more than scribble primitive designs or basic patterns, but the gift is in the joy of activating this particular space.

Whether we gather beads, fabric or sheets of music, go for it!  Simply ignore self-judgment and criticism from others.  If needed, keep the creative venture private. The Universe provides us with resources, if we but pay attention.  Come on, step aside.  Get out of the way!

Align Thoughts

"Even though the sainted ones from almost every spiritual tradition
teach that the divine is within and the kingdom at hand, our language
still clings to the ancient idea of the divine and kingdom are up there."
Janet Conner

The book, WRITING DOWN YOUR SOUL by Janet Conner reviews old thoughts with the effort to align them with our current thinking.  This author does not preach, teach, nor discern what it is we are to believe, but she assists in updating our data.

I no longer hold the theory that heaven is somehow suspended up above nor do I believe hell is a destination below us. God  resides within us, not just above.  The church is a man made building, whereas, the sacred space where I pray is not physical.

The act of writing down our current beliefs, assists us in making them actively integrated with our daily life.  Depending upon  how aware we are, the integration can be present in each moment of our day.  WRITING DOWN YOUR SOUL stimulates multiple levels of our belief system.

Positive Realm

"To feel really safe, you first have to step out
into the unknown, experience the fear, and
discover all is well."
Janet Conner

Janet Conner, author of writing down your soul, encourages readers "How to activate and listen to the Extraordinary voice within.  As we face our challenges in life, we hesitate to give up our feelings of safety or step out of our comfort zone.  Fear of change can keep us stuck indefinitely.

This author encourages the readers to step out from who they are presently to where they want to go.  She stresses, however, that there is a space between the two positions.  In order to experience possibilities and to explore opportunities, one needs to spend time in this space between.  It is in this position we will begin to experience a pull or tug or direction in spite of fear.

Whatever encouragement we feel is in a sense communication with Divine Spirit.  It is when we allow ourselves to be led that we gain insight, synchronicities, and magic.  It is easier to term it as simple change, but by releasing control of every little step, we begin to experience a new transition within a very positive realm.
