"It is December, and nobody
asked if I was ready!"
Sarah Kay
Life changes from Christmas story books, presents from mysterious Santa, and superficial gatherings with folks we might only see once per year to adult financial pressure, social expectations, and the loss of any sense of reverence.
It is documented there are more suicides during the holiday season than any other time through out the year. It can be a very lonely time for those without family and for a member of an overwhelming large family. The holiday ear marked for the innocence of a new born child, come to save us all, has been both questioned and lost on the priority list.
Candles are the saving grace of the season as they offer the image of warmth and security. Small sparkling white lights even without a tree can uplift our questioning rise and fall of scrambled emotions. December triggers evaluations of our journey recalling childhood, and every stage of life that follows. And imagine .... it is only December first!
