Kingdom of Healthy Living

"I can be by myself because I'm never lonely; I'm simply alone, living in my
heavily populated solitude, a harum-scarum of infinity and eternity, and
Infinity and Eternity seem to take a liking to the likes of me."
Bohumil Hrabal
Too Loud A Solitude

There is an extreme difference between solitude and isolation.  Solitude is good for the soul while isolation is harmful.  In isolation, we are void of all contact, frozen in fear or sorrow, and have lost sight of hope.  We fall into a numbness not wanting to be touched, seen or heard.  We block out all aspects of life with disregard for survival.

An individual is lost in isolation, whereas a person claims discovery in solitude.  Quietude offers time to explore and enhance.  We become deeper in our nature and heighten our understanding of the Divine.   Without the busy-ness of life, one hears beyond the sound of silence and  wanders the hallways of other realms.

When we are repressing emotions and avoiding difficult situations, we can better ourselves by spending an hour in solitude.  Whether we create, listen to music, or contemplate, the time spent with our selves is a nurturing experience.  Enjoying a time out prevents us from being isolated from the kingdom of healthy living.
