Creataive Existence

"The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat
of the universe, to match your nature with Nature."
Joseph Campbell

Daily, we can choose to see the beauty in life. We can marvel at the new studies of the ocean and how sea creatures communicate. We can learn of the connection between trees as they feed each other through the root systems. Documentation of animals deemed to be enemies actually assist one and other in crisis.

These inner connections are minor to the remarkable vibrancies meant to stimulate mankind. Individually created, we return to earth to once again advance our souls. We bring past history, sparks of innovation, and awareness of  joined spirituality. It is without intention to destroy humankind nor mother nature.

If we are made by the same Godly source, sharing goals of creative existence, how is it we become so filled with fear and hatred? Surely we do not return to earth with vengeance and clenched fists. Turn inward, please. Connect with all that is so that we can peacefully walk upon this earth as the children God intended us to be.

Where is your Sacred Space?

"Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again."
Joseph Campbell

Each member of the group was given the same question to ponder with the answer to be shared later.  The question was, "Where is your sacred space?" One by one, answers were shared and then a group discussion followed. Most responses referenced get a way retreats or favorite scenic places.

Rather than waiting for a perfect vacation, we can create a sanctuary in our home, out on our porch, or in a neighboring park. Familiarity with any of these places allows for immediate comfort. We can heighten the experience by creating rituals. Music, candles, essential oils and meditations heighten the existence of sacred spaces.

What if we created a sanctuary with our mind's eye?  Holding the inner image with reverence, we could visit it spontaneously and cease feeling vulnerable. We could pull ourselves back from the edge of emotion with a blink of the eye. It is within this created stillness that we could experience a safe haven, greeting the self over and over again.

Time To Shed and Discard ...

"... the old concepts, ideals, and emotional meanings no longer fit ..."
Joseph Campbell

It is frightening to not know what direction you are going. It hurts to release the things that are comfortable when you don't know what lies ahead. The only thing you know for sure is that you can no longer emotionally or physically stay where there is no meaning. Perhaps you have spent a life time acquiring a role that you no longer want to play.

One morning you wake up and know that you can no longer wear the out grown identity. It is painful to release what you are accustomed to, even when you are ready to shed and depart. How will you ever be able to explain when you do not fully understand this transformation yourself?

Trace back to a time that you began to closely relate to a sacred relationship with the Divine. Do you remember a sense of empowerment that tweaked your vision of how you wanted to live your life? Did it lead to discarding superficial aspects that no longer served? The time is now, for you to once again begin.

Desired Sacred Space

"Your sacred space is where you can find yourself
over and over again."
Joseph Campbell

We honor our commitment to others, but do we honor our commitment to ourselves? We endeavor to not let family and friends down, but how often do we disappoint ourselves? We generously make time for family and friends, limiting the time to nurture and sustain our lovely selves.

The advantage of maintaining a sacred space is that we can slip in and out rather easily. Whether simply lighting a candle for a brief moment or settling in to a meditative state, the familiarity creates smooth passage. Repetition ushers us naturally. Sometimes, we can simply close our eyes and be fully present in our holy place.

We may feel selfish when we hold our boundaries in place or experience feelings of guilt. Neither are valid reasons to relinquish the need to nurture and restore. If we desire to meet the needs of others, we must first strengthen the self. Be still, connect with the spiritual essence, and shine brightly with thanksgiving and gratitude.

Designated Safe Space

"Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again."
Joseph Campbell

The location of a sacred space is not as important as privacy and safety. Whether you are wandering in nature or sitting in a cramped room, our inner spirit takes flight. Feeling safe is instrumental to visionary experiences, knowing you will not be interrupted or startled by physical surroundings.

Routinely visiting your designated safe place, you build confidence and quicker escape into the realms of your choosing. With practice, these surroundings and journeys become part of your life and identity. You learn to navigate slowly maintaining a sacred sense without rushing towards a specific goal. It is like visiting a temple for the soul.

Loitering in sacred space whether physical or imaginative, creates a safe haven where you can return to repeatedly. The more familiar, the faster the transition from a chaotic world to a  peaceful healing. If you do not create a spiritual connection lined with meaningful communication, you will wander the earth unsatisfied.

Sacred Space

"Your sacred space is where you find yourself again and again."
Joseph Campbell

There comes a time when we need to retreat to a sacred place whether it is in our mind's eye or a neighboring park. We can invite spirit guides or animal totems or loved ones from the other side to nurture and uplift our soul. When we routinely visit this private space, the entry is faster and the experience grows deeper.

There is no need for a memorized mantra or list of affirmations for it is in the stillness that messages are heard. As we are surrounded by silence or the sounds of nature, we are instantly comforted and transported to places otherwise unknown. We begin to sense an element of healing while reclaiming our power.

Upon returning from this sacred space, we once again feel connected to life with a stronger sense of communication which impacts our emotions, mental states, and behaviors. Rather than feeling restrained, we begin to flow and trust that we are being called forward towards manifesting a sense of sacred in our every day lives.

Assassin or Hero?

"You are a hero of your own story."
Joseph Campbell

Focusing on one true thing to be in life can be a means for sabotage.  We are multi-sided and each part we play is important, requiring nurturing. We set our lovely selves up for failure with expectations to make our mark based upon a singular goal. Individual aspects support each other and contribute to the whole.

If we believe our success depends upon meeting the right people or accumulating exorbitant amounts of money, we are giving away power.  It is when we hold ourselves accountable and stimulate personal resources, momentum increases and attracts positive energy to escort us forward towards realistic goals.

Each person excels in a particular field, but integrity, awareness, and compassion are needed to support the main strength. Life brings us challenges to increase these areas so that we maintain a full spectrum. So discontinue being your own assassin, and gather all of your parts together to become a personal hero.
