"I can't change the direction of the wind, but
I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination."
Jimmy Dean
Funny how one can welcome a breeze to be company on a walk, but the wind can blow us totally off course. It is helpful to have a destination in mind, but unless the wind is at our back, we can be way laid. And when we are escorted off course, challenges and opportunities begin.
It is often stated that turning points in our lives come not at the celebrated times, but during the difficult dark times. One can imagine that our true lessons can only be initially perceived in the darkness narrowing our view.
The best mind set might be to know where one has come from and to have an idea of a destined arrival, but the most important information is that which is right before us. Right here and right now, there is this parcel of knowledge and it is the only truly helpful guide. Compiling layers of wisdom as we proceed in this very moment, might just keep the wind to our back.
