Savoring Spaces

"You learn to say goodbye to places, to keep them in your heart and go on."
Ursula K. Le Guin

Unexpectedly, we come upon a place where heightened responses occur. Our reaction may be of joy or great sorrow. Either way, body, mind, and spirit react in a hyper way. If we are traveling, the particular area will remain logged in our memory where we can return instantly. If we are in our imagination, the same elements remain true.

We may have been overly invested in discovering a safe space, but once it is logged into our mind, we can effortlessly return. We can furnish it with comfort and build an arsenal of memories. It becomes a sacred place where one easily enters and finally feels at home. It becomes a housing unit for special aspects of our existence.

As an example, there is a rock formation bordering a lake that has been occasionally visited but frequented consistently in memory. It is without fancy decorations, somewhat isolated, and the sole sound of lapping water. In the closing of the eyes, one is fully present and refreshed even though it's been years since I've been.

In Spite of Fear

"... to use the world well, to be able to stop wasting it
and our time in it, we need to relearn our being in it."
Ursula K. Le Guin

If we establish a connection to the world, we begin to see our purpose and the necessity to be an active member.  We each carry a light to be joined with others to illuminate the world.  We have purpose and intention for this breath and body.

Whether religious, spiritual, or universal, the realization of purpose gives us direction and contributes to the health of our world.  The concept of  living aspects contributing an ingredient to sacred ground, we tread more gently upon this earth.

Man's brilliance has led to advancement, but at what cost?  Abused power leads to annihilation of body, mind and soul.  In spite of fear, continue to find compassion for each other, set aside judgement, and shine our lights brightly for illumination is near.

Our Soul Waits

"I never knew anybody ... who found life simple.
I think a life or a time looks simple when you leave
out the details."
Ursula K. LeGuin

The castle might look like a royal fest, but the chaos within the velvet lined corridors is not seen. The queenly smiling face might be hiding desperate fears and the curtsy may shade wounds beyond repair. To wish to be a princess deprives us from the path our soul is waiting to take.

Guidance can be a blessing unless it arrives with dominion.  To take pause, to notice how knowledge aligns with our destination, determines how many detours our life will take.  Our choices determine whether or not life will be a simple walk in the park or a treacherous climb through debris.

Avoid the criticism of others and clearly compose authentic choice.  Create a perspective that initiates personal growth enhancing the power of the self and others.  To fully extend our life experience, we step through illusions of separation and remove the barriers falsely presenting as threats.
