Illusion

"Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without."
Siddhartha Gautama

My New Year's Intention to move forward in each moment continues. There is more energy when one isn't collapsing into the past or venturing too far into the future. When I stop puzzling over things I have no control, there is less confusion, and clarity calms my soul. Both power and peace are returning to me.

A stairwell lined with bricks presented itself with a very steep incline. I was thankful for a guiderail, but the projection into the unknown felt overwhelming. Then I remembered my promise to myself and began the climb, one step at a time. Grief and sorrow lingered on some steps, but joy and laughter were there as well.

Admittedly, the past has caused some slabs to be damaged prompting careful advancement, but indeed, they create an interesting climb. I endeavor to stay true to myself, open to learning, and engaging in peaceful movement. My reactions and projections no longer determine life's moments. Life is an illusion, and I am determined to simply shine.

Completing Circuits

"Peace comes from within.
Do not seek it without.
Siddhartha Gautama

As I read various scripts from poets and writers, I came across a phrase that found a new home in my thoughts.  I do not remember the author, but the words suggested we 'assert' our lovely selves rather than 'project'.  So basic, yet it nudged me towards action.

At the foot of a new path, there is a dappled pattern before us.  We can stand there projecting how we can approach this next passage or we can assert our selves into action.  New information may enlighten our spirit, but if we do not blend it into our actions, there is no movement forward ... except in thought.

The implication of maintaining brilliant knowledge is not enough to complete the circuit.  We must learn to apply it.  Knowledge put to use internally, impacts our presence externally.  When we can actively align our inner vibration with our outer presence we are moving towards unknown spiritual expectations.

Right Here, Right Now

"Peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without."
Siddhartha Gautama

Our culture tends to hope for supernatural powers and heroes to save our world, overlooking the numerous souls who daily spread small acts of goodness contributing to the whole.  The bottom line is each of us desecrate and enhance the world we live in through our choices.

We shake our heads at large green plastic bags thrown into a ditch filled with trash and junk.  We would never do that, but we would fill our own garbage with unlimited plastic bags, bottles, and cartons.  We minimize our own discretions while pointing out the poor choices of others.

Individual choices trickle down and impact others.  We must hold our lovely selves accountable for the way we navigate through life.  We need to correct our thinking from, "I'm just one person, what can I do?" to "I am one person who can make a difference right here, right now!"
