Fear Not, There Will Be Lessons

"You are not the victim of the world, but rather the master
of your own destiny.  It is your choices and decisions that
determine your destiny."
Roy T. Bennett

There are times when a decision has to be made even though we are not prepared to make it.  Our mind may be considering new resolutions or directions while our feet are still stuck in the sand.  And of course there are gut feelings or the tug of our heart against what our minds are thinking.

Mean time our well intentioned family members are 'trumping' our ideas.  They may think we are way off mark or maybe we don't even share the decision with them.  Professionals share expertise, but one cannot help but wonder if they are extending services for profitable gain.

Whatever choice we make will impact our journey.  If we choose poorly, we will wander off our given path and learn a set of lessons attached to the decision.  If we miraculously devise a solution that advances us further on our journey, there will be lessons there, too.  So, either way, we will be constantly learning and the lessons we learn should pertain to our own life, not the lives of others.

Powerful Means to Impact

"Learn to light a candle in the darkest moments
of someone's life. Be the light that helps others see;
it is what gives life its deepest
significance."
Roy T.  Bennett

As humans, we face challenges and often they are daunting.  If we become trapped in the emotions of the situation, we become ensnared in unnecessary drama which increases pain into suffering.  We restrict our presence in the life of one other by being fearful of not having the right things to say or do.

If we would just be present without saying a word, just listening; if we take no other action but giving a hug,; if we would drop a lovely card into the mail with uplifting comments; and if we would cover the other in prayer, we would be making the difference we want to be.

The power of prayer or the use of long distance energy work can be deeply effective without exposing our intentions.    We do not have to be physically present to assist in the uplifting of others.  We do  not have to attend church to hold a candle vigil.  Each one of us have powerful means of impacting our personal life, the lives of others and the world at large with anonymity by being a continuous light.

This or Something Better ...

"Believe in your infinite potential.
Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself."
Roy. T. Bennett

There are those who hold out for the one big break, for the huge windfall, or the chance of a life time. We set our sails for a distant island and our narrow focus does not become aware of options floating in the waves that would lead us to something greater.

If we think we are the master mind of our fate, we are in for a rude awakening.  In our single mindedness, Divine Spirit is unable to guide us.  The Universe sits back and watches us pour all of our energies into our man made visions.  We have prayed for success, but we included provisions that regulate the outcome.

Our prayers can express our wants and needs, but it is vitally important to include at the end, "This or something better."  For years I was vigilant in my prayer that never wavered, but included permission for the Universe to be creative.  In the end, my prayer was answered and it was bountiful, so much more than what I had requested.  If we include the Divine in our plans, our journey will still be filled with lessons, but will include unexpected joys.
